How the username checker works
When you press Check, we send the exact name you typed to each supported platform and show what that platform answered. We don't guess from search results or old lists. If a platform replies that no profile exists, the row turns green; if it returns a profile, the row says Taken.
Each row also carries a timestamp such as "checked 2 min ago". Username availability changes constantly, so an answer is only as fresh as that stamp. Run the check again right before you sign up.
The name is sent to the platforms for the check and then discarded. We don't store it and we don't build a list of popular searches.
Which platforms we can check

For the platforms we can't check, we show an "Open" button so you can try the name inside the app. We would rather say "can't check" than show a green dot we can't stand behind.
Reading the results
- Available means the platform had no account under that name when we asked. It is not a reservation.
- Taken means an account exists. On some platforms a taken name belongs to an inactive or deleted account, but the platform still won't release it to you.
- Not allowed there means the name breaks a format rule: too short, too long, or a character the platform rejects. Telegram, for example, needs at least 5 characters, so zoe_k passes but zoe doesn't.
- Blocked by Roblox filter means Roblox would refuse it even though nobody owns it.
- Unknown means the platform didn't reply in time or blocked the request. Treat it as "not confirmed", never as free.
If the name is taken
Don't jump straight to adding numbers. Small changes usually read better:
- Add a word that says what you do: kaiedits, kai.cooks, kaiplays.
- Put a short word in front: itskai, hikai, thekai.
- Swap the separator: on TikTok and Instagram kai.moss and kai_moss are different names.
- Let the username generator suggest variations from your word and check them in one go.

Questions
Can you check Instagram usernames?
No. Instagram answers outside requests with a login wall or a "please wait" error, so any tool claiming a reliable Instagram check is guessing. Use the Open Instagram button and type the name into the username field of your profile; Instagram tells you there.
Is the check case-sensitive?
Mostly not. Platforms such as Roblox, TikTok and Telegram treat MoonFox and moonfox as the same name, so if one is taken, both are.
Why does Telegram say free but the app won't save the name?
The name is probably reserved or listed on Fragment, Telegram's marketplace for usernames. Those names have no public profile, so they look free from outside.
How many names can I check?
One name at a time here, checked on every supported platform at once. There is a short cooldown if you run a large number of checks in a row.
Is it safe to check my real name?
The check itself is safe and nothing is saved. Still, a public username that contains your full real name is easy to search. Many people use a first name plus a word they like.
